The Chairman of the Alanya Tourism Operators Association (ALTİD), Burhan Sili, addressed hotel operators in the İncekum and Türkler regions during a consultation meeting, highlighting the potential damages that climate change could inflict on the tourism sector. Sili stated that global warming, caused by greenhouse gas emissions, could diminish the appeal of affordable beach, sand, and sun tourism and potentially alter tourist preferences. During the meeting, topics such as payment processes with travel agencies, excavation work at the Syedra Ancient City, transportation issues, and power outages were discussed, and it was decided to send informational and request letters to the relevant authorities.

The consultation meetings of the Alanya Tourism Operators Association continued with hotels in the İncekum and Türkler regions. Emphasizing the importance of climate change, the President of the Alanya Tourism Operators Association, Burhan Sili, said, "Greenhouse gas emissions are causing climate change. Due to global warming, the tourism sector, which makes a significant contribution to the country's economy, will evolve into a different dimension in the coming years. We must be prepared for this."
The third of the 2019 Regional Consultation Meetings organized by the Alanya Tourism Operators Association (ALTİD) was held with hotel operators in İncekum and Türkler. The meeting, which addressed regional developments and tourism-related issues, was hosted by Kahya Resort Hotel. ALTİD Chairman and member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Hoteliers Federation (TÜROFED), Burhan Sili, the Chairman of the İncekum and Türkler Hotel Operators Association (İNTOD), Mustafa Kahya, board members, and tourism hotel operators attended the meeting.
Support will be provided for excavation works.
In his speech at the meeting, President Sili explained that the Earth's surface is becoming increasingly warmer each year, emphasizing that greenhouse gases, which trap infrared rays in the atmosphere, are causing global warming. Sili underscored that this warming will harm human health and disrupt the ecological balance, causing damage to the tourism sector. "There is an action that is currently sweeping the world and which I am closely following. The climate protest initiated by a 16-year-old Swedish girl (Greta Thunberg) has spread from in front of the Swedish Parliament to the entire world. This girl has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for her call to attention regarding climate change, which humanity has been ignoring. In our city and in our tourism sector, the effects of climate change, which is a result of fossil fuel emissions, are beginning to be felt. Our hotels, which we market based on affordable beach, sand, and sun tourism, may unfortunately lose their appeal in the coming years. Because the world is warming. Tourists who want to travel from cold countries that experience harsh winter conditions are now increasingly preferring to vacation in their own countries or in neighboring countries. Climate change has significant negative impacts on the ecological balance. An example of this is the appearance of pufferfish, which have never been seen before, in the Mediterranean Sea, and then in the Aegean and Marmara Seas, and their movement towards the Black Sea. It is necessary to address this problem as a national issue in our country, and the state must take urgent and important steps."
