The Turkish delegation, composed of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Turkish Hotel Association (TÜROFED), the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB), and Turkish Airlines (THY), held two important workshops in the Indian cities of Mumbai and New Delhi.

Having held its first workshop in Mumbai, Türkiye held its second workshop in New Delhi. Our tourism professionals, who received great interest in Mumbai, were met with even more intensive participation in New Delhi.

At the event opened by the Turkish Ambassador to New Delhi Dr. Burak Akçapar, he invited Indians to Turkey. Stating that they are making efforts for THY to fly to other cities as well, Ambassador Akçapar said, “The number of Indian tourists coming to Turkey is showing a continuous increase.” Reminding that the event organized by TÜROFED in 2012 was very important, Akçapar stated that the participation of TÜROFED, TÜRSAB, and THY this year under the leadership of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism is meaningful, and that this cooperation will also empower them.

Speaking at the workshop in New Delhi, TÜROFED Board Member and former President of the Alanya Tourism Operators Association (ALTİD) Gülçin Güner also stated that the Indian market is important for Türkiye, noting that every event held will have a great impact, and expressed that they will provide support for all activities as TÜROFED.

The evening in New Delhi was attended by OTOAI President Guldeep Singh Sahni, TAFI Vice President Praveen Chung, and officials from local agencies. Following the event, the Turkish delegation returned to Türkiye.
