The Tourism Season Evaluation Panel, organized by the Alanya Tourist Operators Association (ALTİD), was held at Kalia Beach. In addition to the evaluation of the 2026 tourism season, the panel addressed flight planning for the 2027 season, market expectations, changes in customer demand, and digitalization in tourism.

Fun & Sun Türkiye General Manager Oğuz Ergül, MTS/OTS Globe Türkiye Board Member Deniz Karakaya, and Corendon Tour Managing Director Şükrü Onal participated as speakers in the panel held under the moderation of ALTİD President Cem Özcan.

At the panel, airline capacity regarding the 2027 season and flight planning directed towards Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport were evaluated. Corendon Tour Managing Director Şükrü Onal stated that landing at Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport is more costly for airline companies compared to some other destinations, and expressed that an earlier operation is planned for the 2027 season and that increasing flight capacity, particularly in the Danish market, is being evaluated.

It was stated that for the year 2027, it is planned to maintain the current capacity for Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport flights, but starting operations earlier is also on the agenda.

MTS/OTS Globe Türkiye Board Member Deniz Karakaya, in his assessment regarding the year 2027, also drew attention to the increase in flight planning at competing destinations. Karakaya stated that the COP31, which will be held on November 8, could provide positive contributions for the Antalya destination.

“ALANYA IS A GROWING DESTINATION FOR TOUR OPERATORS”

The importance of Alanya's tourism product diversity and accommodation capacity from the perspective of tour operators was also addressed at the panel.

Deniz Karakaya stated that the product diversity and high capacity density possessed by Alanya make the destination important for tour operators, and emphasized that customer satisfaction is one of the fundamental elements of sustainable growth.

Fun & Sun Türkiye General Manager Oğuz Ergül, on the other hand, made evaluations specifically regarding the Russian market. Pointing out that Russian tourists have a high sense of belonging toward the destination, Ergül stated that developments in the market and changes in tourist behavior following the Russia-Ukraine war must be closely monitored.

“THOSE WHO FOLLOW DIGITAL CHANGES WILL SHAPE THE FUTURE IN TOURISM”

One of the important topics of the panel was digitalization and changing customer expectations.

While it is stated that tourists' demands and holiday habits are changing with the digital age in the tourism sector, it was expressed that reaching customer expectations quickly and being able to develop solutions toward these expectations in a timely manner carries importance for the future of the sector.

While emphasizing that digital applications and the changing holiday concepts of new generations must be closely monitored, it was assessed that the tourism sector needs to focus on the questions, “How were we providing service in the past, and how should we provide service in the future?”

In the panel, it was also noted that the rapid analysis of customer demand, the more effective use of digital tools, and establishing quick communication with the customer would increase competitiveness in the tourism sector.

During the panel organized by ALTİD, questions from industry representatives were also answered, and views and suggestions regarding the future of Alanya tourism were evaluated mutually.

ALTİD President Cem Özcan thanked the speakers who contributed to the panel and the industry representatives who attended at the end of the program. It was stated that ALTİD will continue to strengthen information sharing, intra-industry communication, and collaborations regarding the future of Alanya tourism.
