Alanya conducted an image study in England

Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV) began its fair promotions with the World Travel Market (WTM) Tourism Fair held in London. ALTAV Board Member Gürol Birgen shared reservation statuses in the British market, data from companies such as Thomas Cook and TUI, and Jet2's increase in flights during his meetings at the fair. While ALTAV continues to host foreign press members in Alanya, it aims to participate in 25 more world fairs until March.

Tanıtım

Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV) has begun its exhibition promotions with the World Travel Market (WTM) Tourism Fair held in London, the capital of England. More than 50,000 tourism professionals, ministry-level tourism officials, and representatives from international press organizations from the Arabian Peninsula, Latin America, Europe, Africa, and Asia participated in the 36th WTM held this year.

“THE ANKARA INCIDENT AFFECTED IT”

ALTAV Board Member Gürol Birgen represented Alanya at the fair, where the world's leading tourism and travel companies showcased themselves. In light of the meetings he held at the fair, Birgen noted the following: Following a difficult year, last year's reservation figures have generally been met. In Thomas Cook, the British market for Turkey has remained in the negative. However, the British increase in the global market, primarily in Spain, is progressing at a rate of 10 percent. UK reservations, which were progressing normally before, were completely cut off for a week after the Ankara incident. In this market, which has begun to recover, Thomas Cook is at minus 17 percent compared to last year, and TUI is in the minus 30s. The largest losses are, respectively, Bodrum, Antalya, and Dalaman.

“JET2 INCREASED FLIGHTS”

Jet2, on the contrary, is increasing its weekly flight count from 8 to 9. As for Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport, they have no plans. Consequently, with the monitoring of the situation regarding the Russians and the developments at the Netherlands fair, the British market is expected to recover in the months of January and February. At the fairs, we express to the representatives of the important tour operators we visit that our country is a very safe place and that tourists and resident foreigners, in particular, live in peace, by using various visuals and explanations.

“SUPPORT FROM THE BRITISH MEDIA”

As ALTAV, the foreign members of the press whom we invite to Alanya throughout the year provide us with active support in addition to the news and articles they write. While ALTAV continues to host foreign members of the press in Alanya on one hand, on the other hand, we will appear at 25 more world fairs until March.
