One of the world's most important tourism events, the EMITT Fair, opened its doors to visitors today at the TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center. Alanya has a stand at the fair, highlighting health and sports tourism.
The 28th Eastern Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Fair (EMITT) has opened its doors to visitors. Among those present at the fair to promote Alanya were Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik, Deputy Mayor Abdurrahman Açıkalın, Chairman of the Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ALTSO) Eray Erdem, and Chairman of the Alanya Tourism Operators Association (ALTİD) Burhan Sili. Alanya is being promoted at the fair in a specially designed 56-square-meter stand, which attracted a large number of visitors on the first day. During the three-day fair, the city's unique beauty and tourist attractions will be presented to visitors through various promotional materials and visuals.
Burhan Sili, the President of the Alanya Tourism Operators Association (ALTİD), made assessments on the first day of the fair. "The EMITT Fair has proven itself and is also a fair that is currently known as the Eastern Mediterranean Fair. We, as Alanya, have been participating in this fair from the beginning. This fair is important not only for Istanbul and Turkey, but also for different regions and countries such as the Middle East, Latin America, and Northern Cyprus. Today, there are bureaucrats from many different countries, including the Venezuelan Minister of Tourism from Latin America. This fair offers various opportunities and job prospects for everyone. It is a very important organization in terms of domestic tourism and connections with foreign markets. We are receiving positive figures for 2025. I hope that the upcoming tourism season will pass smoothly. Like last season, we are still facing problems related to costs and exchange rates this year. These problems need to be resolved in the coming period so that we and similar medium-sized regional facilities can continue their operations. But no matter what, we are conducting our meetings at this fair. In the future, we will continue to participate in different fair organizations, and we will do our best to add value to and increase the appeal of Alanya."
