The EMITT Fair, which set a precedent last year by introducing the guest country application with Syria as its first guest, is hosting Egypt in 2010. Having hosted 44 thousand Turkish tourists in 2006, 50 thousand in 2007, and 52 thousand in 2008, Egypt aims to draw attention by participating in the EMITT 2010 Fair as the guest country.
The 14th Eastern Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Fair (EMITT) is preparing to open its doors once again at the İstanbul TÜYAP Beylikdüzü Fair and Congress Center. The EMITT 2010 Fair, which is attended by thousands of companies from all over the world as well as from every region including Asia, is hosting Egypt this time within the scope of the guest country practice it launched last year.
It was noted that Egypt, which will participate in the EMITT Fair as the ''guest country'', aims to overcome the stagnation caused by the global economic crisis, and it was also stated that Egypt plans to carry out numerous promotional activities during the fair.
Expectations from Türkiye are high
In the statement, which noted that Egypt, which views Türkiye as an extremely important market with great potential in terms of tourism, believes that existing relations between the two countries will be further strengthened thanks to the EMITT Fair, it was recorded that Egypt, which hosted 44 thousand Turkish tourists in 2006, 50 thousand in 2007, and 52 thousand in 2008, aims to increase this number even further.
"Everything is available in Egypt"
In the statement, which reported that Egypt will participate in the EMITT Fair with the slogan ''Egypt has everything'', it was stated that Egypt, which wishes to promote itself as an important destination in various tourism categories such as wellness, desert, culture, adventure, congress, holiday, sports, golf, diving, and shopping, is preparing to showcase its cultural and natural beauties to the entire world.
The statement also noted that the guest country, which will organize a press conference and an Egypt night at the EMITT Fair attended by the Egyptian Minister of Tourism and the Head of the Egyptian Tourism Directorate, plans to give various gifts to visitors and serve regional beverages such as Karkadi and Tanr Hendi during the fair.
"We are receiving good results from EMITT"
Nehad Gamal Eldin, the Representative of the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism in Türkiye, also stated in his announcement that sponsoring the EMITT 2010 Fair is extremely important in terms of his country's tourism strategy regarding the year 2016, and noted the following:
"As Egypt, we participate in the EMITT Fair every year without fail. As a result of the good outcomes we have achieved, we have decided to sponsor the fair this year with the title of 'guest country'. We will be present at the EMITT 2010 Fair, which we will attend at the ministry level, with 15 agencies. We believe that the fair is an important platform for us to cooperate with all participating countries and companies."
