Alanya celebrated the 1st of July Maritime and Cabotage Day with a variety of entertaining events. The historical greased pole races brought nostalgic moments to the spectators, while the challenging competition among the participants was thrilling.

The program, which began with the laying of a wreath at the monument, a moment of silence, and the singing of the National Anthem, continued with a procession to the pier and a ceremony of releasing a wreath into the sea. After the officials released the wreath into the sea, the flag-raising by divers and the SUP board and Flyboard demonstrations attracted great interest. In the evening, traditional competitions such as a swimming race and a plate-throwing contest, as well as boat-pulling and greasy pole competitions, provided enjoyable moments for the audience. In the greasy pole competitions, after a thrilling wait, Cihan Toros, 18 years old, was the one who managed to reach the flag.
