Alanya Mayor Sipahioğlu, stating that Alanya, which became acquainted with tourism in the 1950s, is closely integrated with tourists, that Germans and Alanyalılar know each other well, and that this acquaintance has increased their closeness, also noted that Germans prefer Alanya more frequently.
Providing Consul Urbschat with information regarding resident Germans, the foreign residents' assembly, touristic bed capacity, and hotels that remain open in winter, the Alanya Mayor stated that living together with different cultures is part of the Turkish people's tradition.
Antalya German Consul Frank Urbschat, who assumed office on August 8, 2008, thanked them for all these opportunities provided to foreigners and said he would visit Alanya at every opportunity.
