ALTİD President Burhan Sili stated that they are carrying out various projects aimed at developing sports tourism in order to save Alanya's tourism from seasonality and to increase its brand value. Sili mentioned that they have submitted a project to BAKA for the creation of trekking and nature sports routes and emphasized the importance of the existing sports facilities and the congress center in the region. Additionally, it was expressed that golf tourism is also targeted through the golf areas to be constructed in the Emişbeleni, Mahmutlar, Kargıcak, Okurcalar, and Türkler regions following the completion of the allocation process.

Burhan Sili, President of the Alanya Tourist Operators Association (ALTİD), stated that the Alanya district is among the leading regions providing the greatest contribution to the Turkish tourism sector.
Stating that the occupancy rate of facilities in the region is high for only a few months of the year, ALTİD President Burhan Sili said, "With the aim of increasing Alanya's brand value and spreading tourism from seasonality to a year-round basis, we completed the 'Alanya Coastal Security Improvement Project' the previous year with the support of the Western Mediterranean Development Agency (BAKA) grant, and in 2013, we completed our 'Surfing Days in Alanya' project. We have added surfing to sports tourism. Currently, the 'Alanya Barrier-Free Tourism City Project' is ongoing."
Stating that the studies include subjects such as promoting and marketing ancient cities, plateau life, endemic plants, local silk woven products, and local delicacies both domestically and abroad, and creating competitiveness to enter new markets, Sili said that Alanya is extremely suitable for nature sports in terms of its geography and climate.
ALTİD President Sili stated, "Northern Alanya is suitable for nature sports such as trekking and cycling. We have submitted a project to BAKA that includes the necessary infrastructure works in the areas for which we are currently having maps drawn, stretching from the Alanya Demirtaş location-Syedra Castle to Okurcalar Alara Han. We believe that our work on creating trekking and nature sports routes, which is currently in the project evaluation process, will contribute particularly to the development of sports tourism and the diversification and expansion of our region's tourism. Making nature sports possible and sustainable in our region will have a positive social and economic impact on both the promotion of Alanya and the rural areas."
Reminding that Alanya also possesses new facilities that will host important sports competitions as well as congresses and seminars, Sili stated the following: "In our sports facilities, such as our 15,000-capacity stadium and our 10-lane indoor Olympic swimming pool with a capacity of one thousand spectators, we host important teams throughout the year and host national and international competitions. We also aim to host important congresses and seminars at the Akdeniz Üniversitesi Konaklı Kongre Merkezi, which began service in Alanya-Konaklı in 2013."
Sili announced that golf tourism is also targeted with the golf courses to be built in Emişbeleni (Baltepe), Mahmutlar (Gökçebelen), Kargıcak, Okurcalar (Ortaören) in Alanya, and Türkler (Akyar) after the completion of the allocation process.
