Kemal Çelik, the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayoral Candidate, visited the Board of Directors of the Alanya Tourist Operators Association (ALTİD). Çelik was accompanied by MHP Antalya Deputy Mehmet Günal, MHP Central Executive Board (MYK) member and former deputy Hüseyin Yıldız, MHP Alanya Municipality Mayoral Candidate Adem Murat Yücel, and other party members.

'A BRAND AS IT WAS BEFORE'

Speaking during the visit, Çelik stated that Alanya is one of the most important tourism centers for the country, saying, "In our childhood, whenever 'tourism' was mentioned, Alanya always came to mind. We later learned that tourism actually existed throughout all of Antalya. Just as it was in the past, Alanya remains a tourism brand in the world." Continuing his speech by expressing his congratulations to the people of Alanya, Çelik said, "I wholeheartedly congratulate the people of Alanya. They have made Alanya a place where peace and security exist."

'THERE IS A HIGH-SPEED TRAIN ISSUE'

Emphasizing the importance of alternative tourism, Çelik stated that 3 million people go to Spain every year for cycling sports, saying, "Of course, infrastructure and transportation are very important in this regard. Alanya has a high-speed train issue. This high-speed train is currently waiting at the tender stage. Efforts on this matter should be accelerated, and Alanya should benefit from this blessing."

'OUR NON-POLITICAL INSTITUTION'

Burhan Sili, a member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Hotel Association (TÜROFED) and President of ALTİD, who thanked the MHP delegation for their visit prior to the local elections, also stated that ALTİD is a non-political institution and that they wish to work in harmony with whichever administration is elected, regardless of the party.

'ACTION MUST BE TAKEN QUICKLY'

On the other hand, regarding the 16 towns of Alanya that will be closed due to the Metropolitan Law, he warned: "The sudden closure of these towns creates certain question marks in the minds of us tourism professionals in terms of recovery. The administrations to be elected need to act quickly and exert great effort to ensure the system functions properly."

'TOURISTS WILL BE PARTNERS IN EVERY DECISION'

Alanya Municipality Mayoral Candidate Yücel, on the other hand, stated, "There is no family in Alanya that does not earn their bread from tourism. If we come to office, we will involve our tourism professionals in every decision we make."
