Alanya was awarded the 2016 “Best Holiday City” award by Reisgraag, the most popular holiday website in the Netherlands. Paris, the capital of France, was selected as the most popular city.
In the tourism fair organized by the Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV) in the Dutch city of Utrecht in January, Alanya took first place in the “Best Holiday City” category in the competition held by the Reisgraag holiday website.
Providing information regarding the award, ALTAV Vice President Mehmet Dahaoğlu stated, “This award has become a source of pride for Alanya and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Alanya was deemed worthy of the 'Best Holiday City' award at the tourism fair we organized in the city of Utrecht, Netherlands, in January. This holiday website is completely independent, a website that remains under no one's pressure. The site conducted this rating among 6,000 people traveling to various tourism destinations around the world, and Alanya took first place in the 'Best Holiday City' category. As a city, Alanya was selected as the best city, and Paris was selected as the most popular city. Alanya has become the pride of both Türkiye and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. I would like to thank the Deputy Counselor for Tourism of the Netherlands, Neşe Kıvılcım, and the executives of ALTİD and ALTAV who contributed to this effort.”
Alanya Mayor Adem Murat Yücel, on the other hand, stated, “We must step outside the conventional and expand our goals. We have to create new destinations and new markets. As I have always claimed, Alanya is the most beautiful city in the world.”
