Mehmet Dahaoğlu, Vice President of the Alanya Tourism Operators Association (ALTİD) and the Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV), issued a statement condemning the boat collision incident that occurred in Alanya. In his statement, Dahaoğlu said that millions of dollars' worth of promotional activities carried out both domestically and internationally were being disregarded by a few irresponsible individuals. Emphasizing that everyone living in Alanya indirectly benefits from tourism, Dahaoğlu stated, "It saddens us all when Alanya appears in the news with negative stories. Day trip boat operators must be more careful when transporting passengers. This incident, which occurred while passengers were on board, could have been even more serious and could have resulted in the loss of life for dozens of people. The incident between boat operators also strengthens the issue of day trip boats currently operating wanting to replace the luxury yachts docked in the marina, meaning the luxury yachts being moved closer to the city center. Due to some irresponsible individuals, honest workers will also suffer. We condemn this incident and hope it does not happen again." In recent days, two day trip boats collided off the coast of Alanya, and the subsequent verbal altercation between the employees caused the holidaymakers on board to panic. The incident was recorded on a tourist's cell phone, and the footage appeared on social media and in the press.
